This 2-day SORA training offers a comprehensive overview of the structure, principles, and practical application of the leading risk assessment framework used to authorise drone operations in the Specific category. Through a combination of theoretical explanations and practical examples, participants will gain a solid understanding of the SORA process, including the Semantic Model, the development of the Concept of Operations (ConOps) and Operations Manual (OM), and the role these elements play in operational authorisations.
The training also includes in-depth sessions on the core risk assessment components, such as Ground Risk, Air Risk, SAIL and Operational Safety Objectives (OSOs), and Adjacent Airspace considerations. Participants will also explore the latest updates introduced in SORA 2.5, as well as the role of the Light UAS Operator Certificate (LUC) within the European regulatory framework, enabling organisations to better prepare and structure their operational approval processes
The training is designed for aviation authorities, drone operators, and organisations involved in preparing or reviewing operational authorisations who want to strengthen their understanding of the SORA methodology and how it is applied to obtain approvals for drone operations within the European regulatory framework.
Sessions are delivered by experts with extensive experience in operational risk assessment and regulatory approvals, and particularly suited for aviation authorities looking to apply SORA when issuing authorisations, drone companies aiming to prepare effective SORA risk assessments, and teams of at least five participants seeking to build internal expertise in the methodology and its latest developments.
Our teachers are experts in their field and have vast experience of the European and American regulatory framework. Not only will they be available for interactive Q&A throughout the sessions, but they will also facilitate a follow-up discussion after the modules to allow you to explore your learning further.
