VATM enlists NATS expertise to support Viet Nam’s rapid aviation growth

NATS, the UK’s leading Air Traffic Control provider, has partnered with Viet Nam Air Traffic Management Corporation (VATM) to unlock additional airport capacity, optimise airspace and explore time-based separation tools, enabling Viet Nam’s significant growth ambitions to become a reality.

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed on 8th July 2026, at the CANSO Asia Pacific Conference, held in Da Nang, Viet Nam, an event attended by representatives from government, air navigation services providers (ANSPs) and aerospace manufacturers in aviation industry.

VATM will utilise NATS’ proven expertise and experience in safely and efficiently managing ATM operations in some of the world’s busiest airports and in the most constrained airspace environments. Additionally, to support VATM in achieving its strategic ambitions, NATS will assist VATM to upskill and develop a future-ready workforce and work on joint Projects to strengthen safety, quality, and performance management, accelerate digital transformation and support Net Zero commitments.

Viet Nam is one of the world’s fastest growing countries for passenger air travel and is home to Southeast Asia’s busiest domestic route – Ho Chi Minh City – Ha Noi.
