United Airlines Ventures has invested in the Danish deep-tech company Skypuzzler, a pioneer in digital air traffic control solutions that orchestrate and manage airspace across all domains. The investment underscores Skypuzzler’s position at the forefront of enabling the safe and scalable integration of drones, advanced air mobility, and space operations into increasingly complex airspace environments.
Global airspace is undergoing a fundamental transformation. Traffic is growing rapidly, driven by the emergence of eVTOL (electric Vertical Take Off and Landing) aircraft and the accelerating adoption of drones across commercial, industrial, and public sectors. As these new entrants scale, the need to ensure seamless integration with crewed aviation and to prevent conflicts becomes critical.
At the same time, congestion is no longer limited to the lower airspace. The exponential growth in satellites operating in Low Earth Orbit is creating a requirement for sophisticated, digital infrastructure capable of orchestrating traffic and preventing collisions in space.
Digital Foundation for the Future of Aviation and Space
Skypuzzler has developed a breakthrough digital air traffic control platform that solves these challenges across all airspace levels. By combining strategic (pre-departure) and tactical (during flight) deconfliction, Skypuzzler’s platform prevents conflicts before they arise while dynamically managing traffic in real time. This approach significantly enhances flight safety, increases airspace capacity, and reduces reliance on manual air traffic control.
Its solution enables scalable Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) operations and allows drone operators to transition from one-pilot-one-drone to one-pilot-many-drones, unlocking the full operational and economic potential of the drone industry.
The technology directly addresses one of the most pressing challenges facing the aviation industry today, namely, how to safely scale operations with the growing traffic volumes and a global shortage of air traffic controllers.
Extending Digital Air Traffic Control to Space
Building on its experience in airspace management, Skypuzzler will be involved in a project with a prominent European space institution to extend its digital air traffic control capabilities to space. This milestone positions Skypuzzler at the forefront of developing critical infrastructure for managing the rapidly increasing number of satellites in orbit, ensuring safe, coordinated, and scalable space operations.
Strong Investor Support and Global Momentum
In July 2025, Skypuzzler closed a seed funding round with the European Innovation Council Fund (EIC Fund) and Rethink Ventures, a leading German VC. With the addition of United Airlines Ventures, Skypuzzler is further strengthening its strategic relationships with global industry leaders and investors.
These investments enable Skypuzzler to accelerate the deployment of its platform across aviation, drone, and space sectors, delivering a unified digital foundation for managing the complex airspace environments. As airspace continues to evolve, Skypuzzler is uniquely positioned to become a defining infrastructure provider for the future of aviation and space mobility.
