Sweden supports restoration of Ukrainian air navigation

On November 4, meetings dedicated to aviation were held in Lund, during which Andrii Yarmak, Director of UkSATSE, together with his colleagues, discussed ways to restore and develop the Ukrainian air navigation system.

The head of the enterprise had the honor of representing UkSATSE at meetings with Swedish Minister of Infrastructure Andreas Karlson and his team, as well as with our partners SAAB and LFV (Sweden’s air navigation service provider).

During the meetings with SAAB and LFV, practical areas of cooperation were discussed, including:
– the introduction of ADS-B/WAM systems to restore radar coverage;
– the use of Saab mobile control towers for rapid airport deployment;
– the development of Remote Tower Control (RTC) technologies for regional airports;
– training and professional development of Ukrainian specialists in cooperation with Swedish partners.

Special attention was paid to financing and donor support issues, which will enable the transition from technical concepts to practical implementation of projects — in cooperation with the Swedish government, Swedfund, and European institutions.

The introduction of Swedish technologies into the Ukrainian air navigation system is a mutually beneficial step that will strengthen Ukraine’s stability and security and create new opportunities for Sweden’s innovative aviation sector.
