Skypuzzler, a Danish deep tech company enabling safe, scalable drone operations across Europe, has successfully closed its seed funding round with Rethink Ventures and the European Innovation Council (EIC) Fund. The investment will support Skypuzzler’s ambition of deploying digital Air Traffic Control solutions.
“We are grateful for the trust from Rethink Ventures and the EIC Fund, who share our vision of unlocking Europe’s full drone potential. Their support enables Skypuzzler to solve the scalability problem by delivering the missing piece of technology in drone flight safety, paving the way for drone services that will bring prosperity and well-being to European society and accelerate the green transition,” said Jesper Skou, CEO at Skypuzzler.
With the support of Rethink Ventures and the EIC Fund, Skypuzzler is poised to help manage the growing airspace complexity. This aligns with the objectives of the EU Drone Strategy 2.0 and U-space Regulation for digital, safe, and sustainable drone integration.
As a specialist fund, Rethink Ventures invests in founders who aim to lead the transformation of mobility and logistics. Skypuzzler’s co-founders commit to enabling the drone industry to reach its full potential and thereby transform the drone and aviation industries.
“Drones are becoming essential for sustainable, autonomous logistics. Safety enablement and integration with conventional air traffic systems are vital for market growth. Already today, we see adoption in various sectors, with drones delivering medicine and parts to European islands. By 2030, over 1 million drones in Europe will require safe operation. Skypuzzler’s partnership with THALES and DSV confirms this trajectory, and we’re excited to support them as a key enabler in the drone logistics ecosystem,” said Matthias Schanze, General Partner at Rethink Ventures
The EIC Fund invests in companies developing and commercialising disruptive technologies. In addition to seed investment, Skypuzzler is supported by a grant under the EIC Accelerator and gains access to networking and strategic guidance.
“The EIC Fund is happy to have joined this investment, supporting Skypuzzler’s pioneering work in revolutionising air traffic management and optimising the future of aviation. This achievement is an important milestone in their growth journey, and a strong signal of confidence in their technology and vision,” said Svetoslava Georgieva, Chair of the EIC Fund Board.
Skypuzzler welcomes both investors to the team and anticipates a successful and inspiring partnership in delivering digital European Skies.
