SkeyDrone Secures the Skies Over Spa-Francorchamps for the Formula 1 Belgian Grand Prix

SkeyDrone is proud to announce that its cutting-edge drone detection system will safeguard the Formula 1 Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps, taking place from 25 to 27 July 2025.

This year marks a historic milestone for Formula 1 as it celebrates its 75th anniversary. Since 1950, this legendary championship has seen the greatest drivers battle on iconic tracks. Among them, Spa-Francorchamps holds a special place with its spectacular layout, legendary corners like Eau Rouge, and an atmosphere like no other.

As tens of thousands of spectators, teams, and media representatives gather at the iconic circuit, SkeyDrone will work closely with event organisers and security teams to ensure a safe and secure race weekend. Its state-of-the-art drone detection system delivers real-time insights into drone activity, including the drone’s model, height, speed, and location—as well as the drone pilot’s position. This enables rapid threat assessment and response, helping to prevent disruptions caused by unauthorised or malicious drone flights.

Given that a limited number of drones will be authorised to operate during the event, SkeyDrone’s whitelisting feature is particularly valuable. This functionality allows the security team to distinguish between known operations and potential threats, enabling them to focus their attention where it matters most.

This deployment at Spa-Francorchamps builds on SkeyDrone’s growing track record of securing large public gatherings, including music festivals, sporting events, and critical infrastructure sites. The integration of drone detection into broader security operations reflects a growing trend towards smarter, air-aware event management in Belgium and across Europe.
