SITTI Brings M800IP® System into Full Operation at Decimomannu Air Base

SITTI has successfully completed the modernization of communication systems and operation rooms at Decimomannu Air Base, a key site for the Italian Air Force (Aeronautica Militare) in Sardinia and home to the International Flight Training School (IFTS), the Experimental Standardization and Air Shooting Department (RSSTA), and the 80th SAR Group. The operational transition was successfully completed at the end of August 2025, marking the full go-live of the M800IP® system.

The project involved a full renewal of the voice communication infrastructure, with the installation of the SYNCRONIS® MULTIFONO® M800IP® Voice Communication System (VCS) and VoIP GVS gateways.

The Control Tower was entirely refurbished with new consoles, updated operator positions, and MTF800® integrated information terminals. New VCS operator positions were installed at the Approach Control Room, and new mission rooms were activated for the IFTS, the 80th SAR Group, and the airport’s weather service, further expanding the base’s operational capabilities.

This achievement underscores SITTI’s ability to deliver secure, scalable, and mission-critical communication solutions, supporting both national defence and international aviation training.
