Joost Meijs appointed as new CEO of LVNL

Meijs currently works for the Royal Schiphol Group and is seconded as CEO to Maastricht Aachen Airport. He was previously CEO of Eindhoven Airport and Aeropuerto Internacional Reina Beatrix, the international airport of Aruba.

Joost Meijs led Eindhoven Airport from 2008 to 2019, a period in which the airport underwent rapid development. His collaborative style, actively involving regional partners and residents, was significant in this regard. He then spent five years as CEO of the Aruba airport. Here, he and his team successfully navigated the airport through the COVID period and worked on a long-term strategy to become one of the most sustainable and future-oriented airports in South America. In October 2024, he joined Maastricht Aachen Airport to lead the airport towards a sustainable, environmentally conscious and future-proof situation.

The CEO works closely with Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Marlou Banning on the board. The board will soon be expanded to include a Chief Information Officer (CIO), for whom the selection procedure is currently underway. Chief Operational Officer (COO) Mark van Knippenberg is also part of the management team.

Joost Meijs has been appointed for a period of four years, which may be extended on the recommendation of the Supervisory Board. He succeeds Jac Jansen, who has been leading LVNL as interim CEO since April 2025. The Supervisory Board is very grateful to Jac for his great dedication and contribution to the management board during this period.
