Indra Group signs a collaboration agreement with engineering consultancy Tresca to launch drone factory in León

Indra has signed a memorandum of understanding with León‑based engineering consultancy Tresca to incorporate the company into its global supply chain and leverage its product and development capabilities both in Spain and internationally.

Among the first collaboration opportunities identified is the launch of the new drone factory in León, a strategic project to which the consultancy could contribute by providing specialised technical services for the deployment of industrial infrastructure.

This collaboration forms part of Indra’s strategy to consolidate a strong and geographically distributed defence industry ecosystem, aligned with the objectives of technological sovereignty in high value‑added sectors such as drones, air defence systems and land vehicles, among others.

Tresca Ingeniería has more than 25 years of experience in complex technical projects for the energy, oil & gas, mining, chemical, pharmaceutical, mechanical and automotive sectors. This track record makes the company a relevant partner to support Indra during the initial phases of factory definition, design and deployment.

The future drone factory in León will be located in the Villadangos del Páramo industrial estate and forms part of Indra’s industrial roadmap to meet growing demand for unmanned aerial systems and loitering munitions. Once fully operational, the facility is expected to generate around 200 jobs.

Through this agreement, Indra reinforces its commitment to collaboration with Spanish companies, particularly SMEs and specialised firms, fostering a competitive, innovative industrial ecosystem with strong territorial roots.
