Project executed under the leadership of G1 Group, with High Lander and Cando Drones serving as technology suppliers at the Ta’anakh site.

High Lander has announced an agreement with Israel’s Ministry of Energy to support autonomous aerial security operations at the Ta’anakh solar project, one of the country’s most significant renewable energy sites.

The project is executed under the leadership of G1 Group, Israel’s leading security and technology company, which fully manages and secures the facility. Within this framework, Cando Drones, a leading end-to-end drone solutions provider serves as the operational supplier for the aerial deployment and High Lander will provide the core software layer enabling autonomous drone fleet operations, real-time aerial monitoring, and managed airspace coordination across the site.

The selection of an autonomous drone-based security solution marks a significant step in the protection of strategic energy infrastructure. As renewable energy sites become larger, more distributed, and more operationally critical, security models must evolve beyond traditional ground-based patrols.

Scaling Green Energy Security

The Ta’anakh project, located in the southern Jezreel Valley, features an installed capacity of 150 megawatts (MW) and is projected to generate approximately 310 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of clean electricity annually. This output is sufficient to power tens of thousands of households, making its continuous operation and physical security a matter of national importance.

Through this agreement, autonomous drone fleets will serve as a complementary layer to the ground security infrastructure, forming part of a multi-layered security concept designed to improve situational awareness, reduce response times, and support continuous monitoring across a large and complex site.

24/7 Autonomous Protection

In a complex and extensive location like the Ta’anakh site, the ability to launch an autonomous drone-in-a-box within just 15 seconds of an alert serves as a critical force multiplier. By connecting autonomous drones to smart fencing, sensors, and triggered response mechanisms, the system enables security teams to identify incidents, launch aerial inspection, and gain real-time visibility without relying only on ground patrols.

High Lander’s Orion DFM software enables operators to create, dispatch, monitor, and manage drone missions from a centralized interface. For security applications, Orion supports automated patrols, hot swaps for 24/7 protection, rapid aerial response, perimeter monitoring, live video sharing, and coordination with ground teams.

The technical architecture provides a permanent aerial presence through the integration of High Lander’s Vega UTM software for airspace management, approved by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAAI). This system is operated by a manned flight center with a skilled team of certified operators authorized for Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) flight.
