High Lander Aviation and ThirdEye Systems have announced a strategic partnership to integrate advanced optical detection capabilities into uncrewed traffic management (UTM) infrastructure. The collaboration, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed during the Airspace World conference, integrates ThirdEye’s AI-driven MeduzaX sensor with High Lander’s Vega UTM platform to provide enhanced situational awareness for national authorities and critical infrastructure sites.

The integration enhances the capabilities of the Vega UTM suite by incorporating real-time data from MeduzaX, an AI-based electro-optical and infrared (EO/IR) system designed for the detection and tracking of uncrewed aerial vehicles (UAVs). This synergy allows airspace managers to identify and monitor both cooperative and non-cooperative aircraft within a single, unified dashboard.

Enhancing Situational Awareness Through Optical Precision

As the density of uncrewed traffic increases, the ability to distinguish between authorized and unauthorized aircraft becomes a fundamental requirement for global aviation safety. This integration strengthens High Lander’s commitment to a sensor-agnostic architecture, allowing the Vega platform to serve as a high-fidelity information hub that accommodates diverse detection layers.

ThirdEye’s MeduzaX serves as a passive optical radar, utilizing edge computing to analyze raw data in real time. The system boasts a positive detection rate of over 94% with a false alarm rate of less than 1%, ensuring that security teams receive reliable, actionable intelligence without latency.

Enhanced Identification for Critical Infrastructure Protection

The technical synergy specifically bolsters the capabilities of Vega C2 and Vega High Site dashboards designed for the protection of facilities such as power plants, airports, ports, and government sites. The system provides a common operating picture that includes FFI (friend or foe identification) by displaying authorized “Blue” drones and unauthorized “Red” drones on a single interface.

This multi-layered approach ensures that security teams can monitor their airspace with total precision, utilizing MeduzaX’s ability to detect targets that may be invisible to traditional radar or RF-based systems.

The MeduzaX system utilizes edge computing to analyze data instantly, providing a reliable detection method that functions 24/7 in diverse environmental conditions. When integrated with Vega’s autonomous deconfliction and monitoring tools, the result is a sophisticated security solution that meets the rigorous demands of modern homeland security and uncrewed traffic management.
