Estonian Air Navigation Services AS (EANS), together with air navigation service providers from the Czech Republic and Finland, has established the international cooperation alliance SkyBridge. Its aim is to harmonise air traffic management systems, strengthen cross-border cooperation, and accelerate the modernisation of air traffic management in Europe.
“For Estonia, the SkyBridge alliance means an opportunity to develop and manage air traffic management systems together with partners who have similar needs and operational volumes. This supports our day-to-day operational reliability and helps keep service quality and costs balanced in the long term,” said Ivar Värk, Estonian Air Navigation Services AS.
Within the framework of the alliance, the upgraded Thales´s TopSky – ATC solution air traffic management system will be implemented. SkyBridge will join nine other European air navigation service providers in the TopSky – ATC Partners group to jointly develop a safe, efficient, and cross-border interoperable air traffic management system.
The cooperation enables cost efficiency and operational synergies and ensures that activities are aligned with the EU Air Traffic Management Master Plan and the objectives of the Single European Sky. The establishment of the SkyBridge alliance consolidates Estonia’s role as an active and reliable partner in European aviation cooperation, enabling participation in the development of unified technological and operational solutions that support safer, more environmentally sustainable, and more efficient air traffic management across Europe.
