Dimetor is part of VARIANT, a three-year strategic industrial research project focused on the safe, efficient and scalable integration of next-generation electric and autonomous aircraft into current and future airspace.
Led by Boeing Aerospace Spain, the project brings together SkyGrid, Dimetor GmbH, ANZEN Engineering, AI METHODS and QCentroid Labs, with Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M), ENAIRE, the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) and CRIDA A.I.E. participating as subcontractors. The project is partially funded by the Directorate General for Technological Innovation of the Community of Madrid.
Dimetor contributes its NAVSentry platform, which will support the automatic monitoring, detection and alerting of GNSS jamming and spoofing in Advanced Air Mobility operations. The project will assess its application across flight planning, contingency management and surveillance through high-fidelity simulations and real data gathering in Madrid.
As eVTOLs and autonomous aircraft begin operating at lower altitudes and closer to urban environments, reliable positioning becomes a system-wide safety requirement. Protecting PNT at scale and in real time will be essential for moving AAM from demonstration to deployment.
