Belgian partnership marks a strategic move toward commercial-grade 5G small cell deployments in urban areas
This highlights the shift from basic connectivity to enabling high-bandwidth services, a key step in making networks more efficient and ready for future demand.

Citymesh and Accelleran are undertaking a joint trial of Open RAN technology to increase the density of 5G networks in urban environments. Starting with lab validation and moving into a large field trial over more than 20 sites, the program is structured as a rollout, with a clear path toward commercial application. The work is being carried out in Belgium and reflects a shared focus on building real-world, high-performance networks using open and adaptable technology.
