Airservices Australia and AirNav Indonesia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to boost joint cooperation in the modernisation of safe, efficient and sustainable air navigation services.
The agreement, signed at Airservices’ Canberra office this week, establishes a framework for enhanced collaboration in safety, workforce development, operational excellence, technology and leadership.
Airservices Australia Chief Executive Officer Rob Sharp said the MoU reinforced the long-term partnership between the air navigation service providers and their shared commitment to enhancing collaboration, trust and mutual learning.
“Today’s signing marks the beginning of the next chapter in our partnership,” Mr Sharp said. “We look forward to continuing knowledge exchange, professional development opportunities and joint initiatives that create value for both organisations.
“Australia shares its longest airspace boundary with Indonesia and as a result, Airservices and AirNav Indonesia face many common challenges, including aviation growth, workforce capability, technology transformation and evolving customer expectations.”
“By working together, both organisations can learn from each other’s experiences and deliver better outcomes for the aviation communities we serve.”
AirNav Indonesia President Director, Capt. Avirianto Suratno said the five-year MOU represented a strategic investment in the future of Indonesia’s air navigation services.
“Through collaboration with Airservices Australia, AirNav Indonesia will accelerate knowledge exchange to develop human resource capability, including the adoption of innovations that deliver increasingly safe, efficient, and sustainable air navigation services,” Capt. Avirianto said.
“Beyond that, this cooperation also strengthens Indonesia’s contribution to advancing air navigation across the Asia-Pacific region.”
The MOU will focus on four key areas:
- airspace modernisation and operational innovation
- workforce planning and development;
- safety, risk, and sustainability
- international alignment and regional strategy.
Through this collaboration, both organisations will share experience, knowledge and best practices to support the transformation of air navigation services capable of meeting the challenges of the future aviation industry.
