Aireon, SkySoft-ATM to Bring Situational  Awareness System to Air Traffic Control Towers in Airports

Aireon, the leading provider of aviation data products and services, and SkySoft-ATM, the Swiss-based developer of highly advanced air traffic management solutions, are working together to integrate Aireon’s space-based automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast (ADS-B) data into SkySoft-ATM’s Tower platform.

Through this collaboration, Aireon will supply its data for the cloud-based SkySoft-ATM system to provide real-time air traffic situational display of the airport environment with a Range and Bearing Line (RBL) function. This will facilitate calculating time and distances between aircraft and runway prior to landing, as well as ground traffic visibility and other real time air traffic information. This platform is accessible through a secure web-based access and delivered to air traffic control towers serving also as a contingency back up for situational awareness.

Under terms of the agreement, the two best-in-class companies will combine their solutions to create and offer an integrated platform-as-a-service solution to the aviation community for situational awareness of arrival and surface movements in and around an airport or areas of interest. The Aireon-SkySoft cloud-based solution is tailor made to improve traffic management and strengthen overall safety for airports, air navigation service providers, and others in the aviation industry.
