Aerial Cities is approaching

Claudia Bacco, editor-in-chief Global Airspace Radar looks ahead

The yearly C-level invitation-only event, Aerial Cities, will take place in Dublin on the 11-12 November. I’m looking forward to attending and moderating during the conference. This will be the second time I’ve had the opportunity to join and participate in a panel moderation. Thank you to the Drone Talks team for trusting me with this opportunity.

This year, the event has moved to a new location, Dublin City Hall, Ireland. There will be speakers representing Ireland to include Manna Air Delivery, Dublin City Council, Dublin Fire Brigade, Future Mobility Campus Ireland, and the Irish Aviation Authority. It will be great to learn more about the progress within this region and the interaction from the public safety and city organisations.

What’s it all about?

Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) and drone organisations in the industry are scaling up operations and expanding to urban environments. While cities struggle to understand the impact these innovative aerial technologies could have, drone organisations are also failing to communicate with governments and regulators about the infrastructure and frameworks needed for airborne operations at scale.

The goal of Aerial Cities is to create cross-functional collaborations and share information about the needs and capabilities of other industries. The ability to speak in person about these topics enables all stakeholders to connect about existing infrastructure and how this can be adapted for the wide-scale use of drones in the future.

The event aims to promote conversations between AAM and drone decision makers, Civial Aviation Authorities, city and government officials, and drone service users.

By connecting these stakeholders during the event, we’re able to foster an environment where everyone can begin to understand each other’s capabilities and move toward the future of aerial cities. Based on the published speakers list there will be a good mix of representatives from each of these categories locally, within Europe, and from around the world.

Urban Air Mobility

I’m thrilled to be moderating a panel that looks to the future, eVTOL and Vertiports: Scaling Urban Air Mobility for the Future . This panel will revisit the key challenges and opportunities in the development of eVTOL and vertiports, building on last year’s discussions in Aerial Cities 2024. Experts will share insights on regulatory, technological, and infrastructure advancements needed to scale urban air mobility in modern cities. Joining me in this discussion will be Dan Grande Sloat – Advanced Air Mobility Institute, Russell Vickers – Future Mobility Campus Ireland, and Clem Newton-Grown, Skyportz. There will likely be some lively discussion about what the future holds for our industry around these topics.

Looking forward to seeing you In Dublin, to share insights, learn from peers and have some fun!
